Proposal to grant a community lease at Eastdale Reserve

​Auckland Council invites submissions or objections from persons with an interest in respect to a proposal to grant a community lease at Eastdale Reserve.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Act 2002, the Whau Local Board proposes to grant a new community lease to Avondale Community Action (ACA) for the council owned clubrooms and two garage spaces on a portion of land at Eastdale Reserve, 33-37 Eastdale Road, Avondale, legally described as Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 84147. The land is held in fee simple by Auckland Council.

The term of the proposed community lease is an initial term of one year with one right of renewal for one year.

ACA is a charitable trust established to be a source of local information, provide a voice for the community and help enable smaller emerging groups get started. It will use the office and shed space as its base as well as working with other groups and individuals to utilise and activate the facility. It will also use the space for recreational activities such as boot camps, bike hub, learn to ride, as well as a space for youth to gather with mentoring and support sessions and workshops.

Any person wishing to make a submission in respect of the above proposal is required to lodge this, no later than 5.00pm on 26 July 2019, in writing to:

Any information provided to the council will become subject to the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and may be released by the Council under that Act, unless a withholding ground under that Act applies. Submitters details may be provided to elected members for decision making purposes and may be included in meeting agendas that will be published on the council’s website. Any submitter should state in their submission if the whole or any part of the submission is to be kept confidential and must indicate the grounds for the information to be withheld.
