Intention to reclassify part of Ngāti Ōtara Park as a local purpose (marae) reserve

​Pursuant to Section 24 of the Reserves Act 1977, Auckland Council as the local authority for Ngāti Ōtara Park, notifies its intention to reclassify part of the same reserve from a classified recreation reserve to a local purpose (marae) reserve in accordance with the Act. The reserve located at 95R Ōtara Road, Ōtara is legally described as Lot 185 DP 50993, comprising of 17.3003 hectares (more or less) and contained in record of Title NA2110/99 which is vested in Auckland Council, in trust, as a classified recreation reserve. Auckland Council proposes to reclassify 5841 square metres, shown as Section 1 on Survey Office plan 541424, to a local purpose (marae) reserve to enable the relocation of the existing Ngāti Ōtara Marae from its current location onto part of the reserve proposed to be reclassified.

Any person wishing to object to the change of classification may do so in writing no later than 5pm Friday, 22nd November 2019.

Any objector’s information provided to the Council will become subject to the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and may be released by the Council under that Act.
