The Lake House Trust, Fred Thomas Drive, Takapuna
Auckland Council invites submissions from persons with an interest in Barrys Point Reserve at Fred Thomas Drive, Takapuna.
The Lake House Trust's existing lease is for the area covered by the main building and the licence for the gardens and car park area adjacent to the building. The Trust has applied for a new lease and licence to continue its activities at this location. The new lease area will be increased to cover the barracks buildings and the licence area will remain the same.
The part of the reserve occupied by the Trust is Part Lot 2 DP 61305 which is held in fee simple by Auckland Council as a classified recreation reserve. As the classification does not to support the activities of the trust, council must publicly notify its intention to grant a new community lease pursuant to Section 73(3) of the Reserves Act 1977 and the Conservation Act 1987.
Auckland Council proposes to grant a new community lease and licence to the Lake House Trust at Barrys Point Reserve for a term of 10 years with two ten year rights of renewal.
Anyone wishing to make a submission on the proposed lease or licence may do so in writing to Auckland Council, Private Bag, 92300, Victoria Street West, Auckland 1142, Attention: Wendy Zapart, Community Lease Advisor, no later than 5pm, Friday 4 January 2019. Alternatively, submissions may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Submitters should state if they wish to be heard. Any information provided to council will become subject to the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and may be released by council under that Act. Any submitter should state if the whole or any part of the submission is to be kept confidential and advise Auckland Council as soon as possible.
