About age-friendly Auckland

​We're developing a region-wide, cross-sector, age-friendly action plan for Auckland.

This plan will:

  • help us raise awareness of the needs and contributions of older Aucklanders
  • improve outcomes for residents who are 65 years and over
  • mean that Auckland will be eligible to join the World Health Organisation (WHO) Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities
  • demonstrate our collective commitment to a friendly and inclusive Auckland.

Community engagement sessions

So far we've confirmed the following community engagement sessions:

Respect and social inclusion

Monday 6 May 2019, Nixon Park Community Hall, 70 Sale Street, Howick, 10.15am-12.30pm.

Community support and health services

Friday 17 May, Franklin: The Centre, 10 Massey Avenue, Pukekohe, 10.15am-12.30pm.

Transport

We are currently reviewing your feedback and will be using this to help us develop an age-friendly action plan for Auckland.

What happens next

We'll be adopting our age-friendly Auckland action plan in 2020 and joining the World Health Organisation Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities.
