More information about the Annual Budget 2020/2021

We consulted on the Annual Budget 2020/2021 in February and March 2020.

Minor changes to rates and fees

Following your feedback in February/March this year, we consulted with you on a number of proposed minor changes to rates and fees for the Annual Budget 2020/2021.

Since the annual budget consultation was conducted, the financial landscape has changed almost beyond comprehension. However, the choices facing the community and decision makers in relation to these proposals remain the same.

A few of the proposals that we previously consulted on have been agreed in principle, subject to consideration of any further feedback we receive in the emergency budget consultation.

Therefore, after considering your feedback, we have made decisions on these issues and the Emergency Budget 2020/2021 will include these decisions.

Auckland Council is focused on continuing to help our communities and businesses recover, and providing the essential services Aucklanders rely on.

But the economic impact of COVID-19 means that together we need to make some tough decisions about Auckland Council’s budget - like the rates we pay and what we spend our money on.

This consultation will be open for your feedback from noon on 29 May until midnight on Friday 19 June.

Attend one of our online community webinars to hear what we are proposing in the emergency budget and to ask questions.
