About the Flat Bush Community Facility

This consultation closed on 10 September 2017. Thank you for your feedback.

We received more than 400 responses to the consultation, gathered from the online form, from face-to-face discussions and from the various events.

After reviewing the feedback, we identified several key themes:

  • Providing the local community with access to a range of activities and programmes in their neighbourhood.
  • Creating a facility that is family friendly and caters for cross-generational activities.
  • Catering to people from all ethnic backgrounds, from new migrants to Māori.
  • Providing a "heart" for the community.
  • Offering opportunities to learn and participate rather than just watch.
  • Providing a connection with the environment.

The consultation findings report was presented to the Howick Local Board in November 2017.

The report will inform the design brief for architects to design the new library and community space at Flat Bush.
