Hobson Bay walkway - Wilson's Beach to Shore Road Reserve

About the Hobson Bay walkway - Wilson's Beach to Shore Road Reserve

We want to provide a safe walking connection from Wilson's Beach to Shore Road Reserve in Ōrākei, covering about 600m along the water's edge.

This will include:

  • extending the western end of Wilson's Beach using imported sand
  • building a rock wall to protect the beach from sand loss
  • constructing a timber boardwalk
  • 3m wide concrete path along the extended beach.

This will complete the Hobson Bay walkway network to Shore Road and improve access to the area's waterways.

We want to know if you support the walkway, how often you'll use it and what you'll use it for. We'd also like to hear your thoughts on the proposed design.
