About the Matakana Jubilee Park needs assessment

About the Matakana Jubilee Park

Matakana Jubilee Park is situated on the western side of Matakana Valley Road.

The park is approximately 3.8 hectares in size and has two lease holders; Matakana Branch Pony Club and Matakana Tennis Club. Current facilities on the park include; three tennis courts, a large grassed area, a pony club pavilion, stalls and a carpark.

When the pony club's lease expired in 2015, the Rodney Local Board resolved that before granting it a new lease, an assessment of the Matakana community's recreation needs should be carried out.

What we need your feedback on

In 2017 Bespoke Landscape Architects were engaged to make a recreation needs assessment for the area. The process considered the amount of open space, sport and recreation facilities, current activity levels and future needs of the area.

After compiling this information, Bespoke have identified three potential layouts for the Matakana Jubilee Park.

The Rodney Local Board is seeking feedback from the Matakana community on these three options as well as any further feedback the public may wish to provide on the use of Matakana Jubilee Park.
