This consultation closed on 6 May 2018.
We received more than 200 pieces of feedback on the park.
The key themes were:
- majority support for the pony club to remain at the park, and for the park to maintain its rural character
- significant support (although fewer than half of respondents) for some of the park space and amenities to be available for informal recreation
- some willingness from supporters of the pony club to make room for other activity in the park.
This feedback informed the Matakana Open Space Study report.
Rodney Local Board has decided to create some neighbourhood park space within Matakana Jubilee Park, while still retaining the pony club and tennis club.
The next step will be to design the new park layout and estimate costs.
