About the toilet block mural at Royal Reserve

We are planning a new mural for the toilet block at Royal Reserve in Massey.

The Kākano Youth Arts Collective has developed four design ideas for the site which include contemporary references to Māori identity and wellbeing.

What we'd like your feedback on

We'd like to know which of the four proposed mural designs you prefer.

Option 1

This design loosely references Taniko patterns, which reflect a sense of belonging, tūrangawaewae and the journey to and from a place.

Option 2

This mural features taonga from our natural world including a range of native birds and plants. It also references Taniko design.

Option 3

This design emphasises the importance of physical activity as part of our well-being and includes Te Reo Māori in the text.

Option 4

Inspired by diversity and culture, this design includes kowhaiwhai and aramoana patterns to connect people.
