Pukekohe-Paerata Trails Plan

Closed for feedback

About the Pukekohe-Paerata Trails Plan

The consultation for this plan closed on 3 August 2018.

Thank you for your feedback.

We received more than 60 pieces of feedback during the consultation. These came from the online form as well as from drop-in sessions, focus groups, and through consultation with mana whenua.

Key themes from the feedback included:

  • safety and lighting
  • requests for signage and footpaths
  • tourism opportunities
  • family-friendly cycling
  • looking at the area as a whole
  • recognition of the area's culture and history
  • preservation of Franklin's rural flavour.

After analysing the feedback, we have identified nine priority connections within the area. We have also made some changes to proposed routes, and added some new ones.

The plan was renamed as the Pukekohe-Paerata Paths Plan, and was adopted by the Franklin Local Board at their business meeting in December 2018.

The plan will be implemented over the long term, as funding becomes available. No funding or projects have been confirmed yet.
