This consultation closed on 13 October 2017.
We received feedback through a public open day and an online survey. We identified the main themes of the feedback, which centred around environment, culture and recreation.
From that, we were able to identify our design objectives, which are to:
- align pathways to take archaeological sites and drainage into consideration, and to create the ability for people to use the circular tracks
- restore and rejuvenate the park's natural environment, including planting native vegetation and improving the health of existing trees
- create recreational facilities for a range of ages, including play equipment, picnic tables, a half basketball court and cycle circuits
- continue to accommodate dogs in the park.
The results of the consultation were used to create a landscape concept plan for the development of Tahapa Reserve.
The improvements have been approved by the Ōrākei Local Board and are currently in the consent process.
