About the upgrades to Riverpark Reserve

This consultation closed for feedback on 7 October 2018.

Thank you for having your say.

We received 59 submissions in total and we'll use this feedback to design the proposed new playground.

Key feedback themes

The majority of respondents said there were too few activities currently on site.

The most popular activities for the new playground involved:

  • climbing
  • swinging
  • sliding.

Other suggestions included:

  • a flying fox
  • a barbecue area
  • a concrete court
  • shaded seating.

Most people also supported the installation of fitness stations.

We received an estimated 90 per cent of consultation submissions online, with the remainder coming from the open day and a few emails.

Next steps

The completed concept design plan for the new playground was presented to the Henderson-Massey Local Board in December 2018.

The board approved the design and some additional funding.

Construction is anticipated to begin in May-June 2019.

The project team is currently analysing all the feedback received. Once this is done, we will make a summary of the feedback public on this website (anticipated November).

This will help inform the selection of play equipment for the upgraded Riverpark Reserve playground, and provide data for the fitness station funding application.

If you have provided your email address to us you will be notified by email about project updates.
