You can only display veranda signs on a premises in a residential area if the premises is:
You can only display a sign on a veranda’s fascia (the board fixed to the outside edge of a veranda) in a residential area.
Signs cannot be displayed under or on top of a veranda in these areas.
Veranda signs in these areas must only advertise the premises (for example, the business name) and things that you can buy or do on the premises, such as:

If you want to put up a business sign in scheduled historic heritage places you will need a resource consent.
