A great way access Auckland city centre from Ponsonby and Herne Bay.
Lots to view, from the Waitematā Harbour, to the historic homes perched on the St Marys Bay cliff, Sky Tower and city skyline.
Start on Sarsfield Street and loop around scenic Pt Erin Park.
At the northern end of Pt Erin Park, climb down the steps and follow the path to reach the flat walkway alongside the motorway. The path offers great views of Auckland city, and is separated from motorway traffic by noise walls and fencing.
You can walk over the Jacobs Ladder footbridge to connect to Westhaven.
If downtown Auckland is your destination, continue along the path to reach Beaumont Street and Victoria Park.
