About the path

A scenic stroll taking in the beautiful views and boats moored at Gulf Harbour Marina.

The path starts on Pinecrest Drive, close to the Fairway Bay Marina and local cafe. Or if you're catching the ferry to Gulf Harbour, start the path there instead.

The route winds along the waters' edge, with fantastic views towards Fairway Bay and Gulf Harbour marinas.

The track is mostly paved, except a short section through the bush. There's one muddy section where you'll need to carry prams for a few metres.

When the off-road path ends, continue on the footpath along Harbour Village Drive and through Gulf Harbour village. Pop into one of the local cafes, or enjoy a picnic with the stunning marina backdrop. Across Gulf Harbour Drive, Gulf Harbour Recreation Reserve, is a great spot for a playground break.

Follow the inlet around the village, then join onto Laurie Southwick Parade (the footpath is on the right side of the street).

Head through the car park at Gulf Harbour Marina and walk along the path on the edge of the marina. There is a short section where you will need to follow the short detour to avoid the marina working area.

Gulf Harbour Marina is a lovely spot to enjoy a picnic and views of the Hauraki Gulf. You can see the distant Auckland city skyline and to Rangitoto Island, and watch people fishing and working on their boats. You might even see a few rabbits along the rocky breakwater.

Public toilets are available at Gulf Harbour Marina.
