Description of The Otara Walkway
The walkway passes through 220ha of open space in Otara including the waterway and Otara Creek.
It forms a green corridor through Otara and links the Otara Town Centre with Hillary College, Ngati Otara Park and Otara Lake.
Of particular interest are the mangroves that grow in the tidal mudflat zones and the associated wildlife.
Dogs have to be under control on the walkway. They are prohibited on sports fields or near children's playgrounds.
Dogs must not disturb wildlife or park users.
Route of of the Otara Walkway
The walkway starts at the end of Kaitawa Crescent and follows the Otara Creek around to East Tamaki Road and back to Kaitawa Crescent.
The loop back is along the road.
How to access the Otara Walkway
You can access the walkway from the Otara Town Centre through Lovegrove Cresent along the banks of the Otara Creek.
