Located near the quiet settlement of Huia by the Manukau Harbour, the campground is located on rolling pastures with a backdrop of forest-clad hills and a bush stream nearby with great picnic spots.
From the campground, you can walk through a number of paddocks to Karamatura Valley Campground and then make your way to the Karamatura Falls.
We have closed large sections of the Waitākere Ranges to prevent the spread of kauri dieback.
When you visit our parks, you need to clean your footwear and equipment to avoid transferring disease from one area to another.

From Titirangi, drive on Huia Road for 15km passing Huia settlement and Huia Fire Station along the way. A sign post indicating Barn Paddock Campground will mark the entrance to the gravel access road on your right.
Main park gates are open from 6am to 9pm during daylight savings hours and 6am to 7pm during non-daylight saving hours. You will need a combination code to open the locked access gate - we will send you the combination code with your booking confirmation.
The campground is located 300m up the gravel access road in the large paddock opposite the Karamatura Heritage Farm.

Bookings can only be made six months in advance for campgrounds. Availability refreshes at midnight daily.
From 17 December to 31 January: group bookings are limited to a maximum of 10 people.
From 1 February to 16 December: group bookings are limited to a maximum of 30 people.
The campground is closed over winter months due to wet conditions.

Dogs, other animals and pets are prohibited at all times.
Your campsite must be clean and tidy during your stay, and when you leave.
No bins or rubbish disposal facilities. Take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.
You may stay in tents only.
You may not stay in anything other than a tent including a motorhome, campervan, caravan, 5 wheeler, bus, campermatic/pop top camper, truck or portable container dwellings.
Vehicle access is dependant on ground conditions. If it is dry, you may park your vehicle next to your tent.
There is a maximum of 20 vehicles in total allowed in this campground.
