Tawhitokino campsite at Tawhitokino Regional Park

COVID-19 accommodation information

Baches, lodges and self-contained vehicle sites are open for bookings.

Scheduled winter closures are in place for some campgrounds.

Auckland Council baches remain self-clean spaces. Please clean all utensils, crockery and surfaces on your arrival and departure.

To limit the potential number of contaminated surfaces, we have removed all unnecessary items e.g. books and games, to maintain a high level of hygiene and allow for thorough cleaning of all surfaces. For hygiene reasons all pillows have been removed so please ensure that you bring your own pillows.

This campground is that the far end of Tawhitokino Beach. It is part of the Te Ara Moana kayak trail.

The trail takes you past Te Iwirahirahi Point, Ruakura Bay and Waiti Bay to the white sands of Tawhitokino Beach. It's a 30 minute walk back to Waiti Bay making it a very tranquil escape.
