Purpose of structure plans
The purpose of a structure plan is to establish land use and infrastructure networks and identify the potential effects of urbanisation.
Structure plans may identify, investigate, and address matters related to:
- Supply of urban land to meet the growth projects in the Auckland Plan
- Any natural and physical features within the defined area
- Types of land use and activity
- The layout of transport networks and facilities
- The location and type of infrastructure that is to be provided.
