Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy

The Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy records how our alcohol harm reduction activities link into the strategic direction of the Auckland Plan.

What the Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy does

The strategy records the intended impacts of our alcohol harm reduction activities, to ensure that work related to alcohol and alcohol-related harm is consistent.

We adopted the strategy in August 2016.

The aim of the Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy

  • To deliver a coordinated, consistent approach across Auckland Council and council-controlled organisations (CCOs) to minimise alcohol-related harm in Auckland communities.
  • To set a vision and clear outcomes for staff to work towards.
  • To provide specific priorities for action by unit or function.
