What the Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy does

The strategy records the intended impacts of our alcohol harm reduction activities, to ensure that work related to alcohol and alcohol-related harm is consistent.

We adopted the strategy in June 2012.

The aim of the Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy

  • To create a safe and healthy city with a minimal risk of harm to Auckland communities from alcohol-related activities.
  • To determine our alcohol harm reduction activities and how they link into the strategic direction of The Auckland Plan.
  • To discuss intended impacts of these activities to ensure consistency in our approach to alcohol and alcohol-related harm.
