When entering the Resource Recovery Park, follow staff guidance and signage.
Be aware of these requirements before travelling to the site:
- Household recyclables must be sorted before you arrive.
- Domestic green waste must be free of all prohibited green waste types, and will be checked before arrival.
- Green waste should not include any branches over 100mm in diameter, roots, soil, building materials (timber).
The Resource Recovery Park accepts most types of waste, including:
- general rubbish
- green waste
- building materials
- recyclable materials.
Items not accepted at the Resource Recovery Park include:
- odorous waste
- veterinary, hospital and medical waste
- liquid waste
- timber preservatives, asbestos and chemical manufacturing residues
- car bodies
- commercial hazardous waste fill.
Items for purchase at Resource Recovery Park
Building materials, furniture, plumbing items, hardware and much more are available for purchase at the yard.
All available items have been donated or saved from the waste stream.
The Waiheke Recovery Shop, connected to Waiheke Community Resource Recovery Park, plays a useful role in diverting unwanted items away from landfill for reuse or recycling.
