The Tāmaki Community Recycling Centre is part of the Tāmaki Zero Waste Hub and is managed by Localised Ltd.
Their objectives are to:
- divert waste from landfill
- create new jobs and volunteer opportunities for the local community.
Every item you donate or buy helps support this kaupapa (set of principles) and reuse valuable materials.
The hub has:
- a drop-off service for the public and local businesses
- a large re-use shop on site where you can buy low-cost, second-hand goods.
Before you visit
Contact the centre in advance about:
- bulky items or large batches
- items that need extra handling or preparation
- anything unusual or that may need staff approval.
Fees and charges
Fees may apply for some materials or services.
Items that may be accepted
The centre may accept and sell reusable items in the on-site reuse shop if they are in good condition. This supports sustainability in the community and gives used items a second life.
