Youth Connections

Collapsing the space between young people and employers.

What is Youth Connections?

We launched Youth Connections with the Tindall Foundation in May 2012. It is managed by The Southern Initiative.

The project aims to support young people into high-quality, sustainable employment.

It works with businesses and education and training organisations to build pathways to new careers.

It also aims to change the way young people are prepared for, engaged, and valued in the workforce.

Creating employment opportunities

We work at a regional level with:

  • central government
  • the business community
  • local boards
  • schools
  • youth service providers
  • community groups.

We work with other organisations to create immediate change at a community level. We also lobby for permanent changes at a local and national level.
