About the Retrofit Your Home scheme
You should know
The Retrofit Your Home scheme is now closed to new applications.
Auckland Council’s Retrofit Your Home scheme offered ratepayers financial assistance of up to $5000 for the installation of:
- clean heat
- insulation
- water conservation
- mechanical extraction
- fireplace decommissioning.
The loan was repaid by a targeted rate on the property over a nine-year term. More than 23,700 Auckland homes had work completed through the scheme.
Retrofit your home changes
In 2020 we discovered some problems with the way we managed interest calculations on our Retrofit Your Home loans.
As a result we have:
- closed the scheme
- amended the accounts.
