Tāmaki Makaurau Recovery Plan

The Tāmaki Makaurau Recovery Plan sets out the principles, aims and funding approach for Auckland's recovery from the 2023 weather events. It also acknowledges those involved in the delivery of related projects and initiatives.
Purpose of the Recovery Plan
The purpose of a recovery plan is to set out a recovery vision for the future of the community.
The plan looks at the following priorities:
- providing information, advice and resources for Aucklanders
- delivering programmes and initiatives to support wellbeing and recovery
- improving the making repairs and improvements to key infrastructure
- enabling mana whenua to partner and lead in the recovery
- empowering communities to lead their own recovery.
Recovery Plan focus areas
The recovery plan focuses on:
- community and social recovery
- Māori partnership and participation
- natural and built environment
- economic recovery.
