Devonport-Takapuna Local Board

Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Workshops and Community Forums

Devonport-Takapuna Local Board will hold its workshops in public.

Date and Time

The board will hold workshops each month, on a Tuesday afternoon, in the Auckland Council Chamber, Level 3, 1 The Strand, Takapuna.

Purpose of Workshops

Anyone can come along and watch the board workshop items with council officers.

You can find a brief agenda setting out what issues will be discussed below under workshop topics.

These workshops are not meetings where the local board makes decisions.

There will still be a monthly local board business meeting (third Tuesday of each month) where the board makes decisions.

Workshop topics

The local board workshops focus on oversight and delivery of projects in their work programme.

This includes topics such as events and renewals of assets across the local board area.  We will publish a record of the workshop on the agenda of the next business meeting.

Scheduled items may change at short notice depending on the urgency of the matter presented to the local board.

Date: Tuesday 25 July, 1.00pm - 5.00pm
Venue: Council Chamber, Level 3, 1 The Strand, Takapuna

1. 17/18 I & ES Work Programme 1.00pm - 2.00pm
2. 17/18 Transport Work Programme 2.00 - 4.00pm
3. 17/18 Community Facilities Work Programme 4.00 - 5.00pm

Confidential Workshop Items

Occasionally, some parts of a workshop will need to be held in private, without the public present.

This will only occur where:

  • the information to be discussed would be withheld by the council under an official information request, or
  • the issue would be discussed in a confidential part of a business meeting.

For example:

  • the board is to be briefed about a potential property acquisition and the information is commercially sensitive;
  • officers need to brief the board on something that is legally privileged; or
  • the board needs to hear about issues with someone’s private property.

    Community Forums

    Date and Time

The board will hold one community forum each month, on the first Tuesday,
in the Council Chamber, Level 3, 1 The Strand, Takapuna.

Community forums will start at 6.00 pm.

    Purpose of Community Forums

Anyone can speak to the local board at a community forum, as long as the matter relates to a function of the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board.

Deputations will be given 15 minutes to speak and public forum speakers will be given 5 minutes to speak.

This includes questions from board members.

If you would like to speak at community forum, please contact the local board office in advance to let us know:
