Bylaws

Trading and Events in Public Places Bylaw

Auckland Council and Auckland Transport have both adopted new bylaws for trading and events in public places. These bylaws, adopted on 1 July 2015, will allow us to manage commercial activities in public places fairly and consistently across Auckland.

The bylaws cover:

  • markets and stalls
  • mobile shops
  • outdoor dining
  • fundraising
  • offering commercial services
  • distribution of promotional material and/or goods
  • outdoor display of goods
  • street performances and pavement artists
  • filming
  • events.
