Fires in populated Hauraki Gulf islands restricted
The populated Hauraki Gulf islands (Waiheke, Great Barrier, Kawau and Ponui) are currently in a restricted fire season, which means no outdoor fires without a permit.
A total fire ban remains on all other Hauraki Gulf Islands.
The fire season is set by
Fire and Emergency New Zealand and replaces the Auckland Council rules found on this page.
