Artillery Drive stormwater tunnel

This tunnel is the first of a three-stage project which aims to reduce flood risk. It will free up land for the Special Housing area in Takanini. It will also add capacity to the stormwater network downstream of the McLennan Park pond.

The tunnel is 1.1km long, 2.5m in diameter largely constructed by trenchless means.
