Proposal to grant a community licence to occupy for land at Muriwai Village Green

​Pursuant to section 74(2) of the Reserves Act 1977, the Rodney Local Board proposes to grant a community licence to occupy for 532 square metres (more or less) of land located at Muriwai Village Green via Jack Butt Lane Muriwai, legally described as Part of Section 6, Survey Office Plan 69320 to Muriwai Environmental Action Community Trust. The land is subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977 and managed by the council as a local park.

Muriwai Environmental Action Community Trust proposes to continue its occupation at the Muriwai Village Green, to expand its plant nursery for the benefit of the local environment and create a community hub on the site.

The proposed community licence to occupy will be subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Five-years, with one, five-year right of renewal
  • Rent - $1,300 plus GST per annum

Any person wishing to make a submission in respect of the above proposals is required to lodge this in writing to Karen Walby, Community Lease Specialist, Auckland Council, Private Bag 92300, Victoria Street West, Auckland 1142, no later than 1 August 2025 at 5pm. Any information provided to the Council will become subject to the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 and may be released by Council under that Act unless a withholding ground under that Act applies. Submitters details may be provided to elected members for decision making purposes and may be included in meeting agendas that will be published on Council's website.
