ACIL was a council-controlled organisation (CCO), which managed our major equity investments.

Role of ACIL
ACIL held the shares and managed major investment assets, on our behalf.
These were:
- Port of Auckland Ltd (100 per cent owned)
- Auckland International Airport Ltd (22.4 per cent owned)
Disestablishment of ACIL
As part of the 10-year budget 2018-2028, we disestablished ACIL.
We transferred ACIL's share holdings to the council and absorbed its functions.
