Auckland Future Fund (AFF) was launched in September 2024 as part of the Long-term Plan 2024-2034. We expect the fund to provide the council with more than $60 million per year from 2025/2026.

Purpose of the fund
The fund is an investment for current and future Aucklanders.
Its purpose is to:
- improve Auckland's physical and financial resilience
- deliver revenue to help fund council services
- reduce our reliance on rates to fund council services and activities
- protect and strengthen Auckland in times of need
- protect the value of financial investments for future generations
- help us invest across different entities, sectors and locations.
