About the Tūpuna Maunga o Tāmaki Makaurau Authority

The Tūpuna Maunga o Tāmaki Makaurau Authority was established to co-govern 14 Tūpuna Maunga following a 2014 Treaty settlement.

What is the Tūpuna Maunga o Tāmaki Makaurau Authority?

The Tūpuna Maunga o Tāmaki Makaurau Authority (Maunga Authority) is the statutory authority established under the Ngā Mana Whenua o Tāmaki Makaurau Collective Redress Act to co-govern the Tūpuna Maunga.

The Maunga Authority is comprised of equal representatives from Ngā Mana Whenua o Tāmaki Makaurau and Auckland Council, together with Crown (non-voting) representation.

The inaugural members of the Maunga Authority are:

Tūpuna Maunga o Tāmaki Makaurau Authority Hui dates

The Tūpuna Maunga Authority holds monthly hui.

The 2020 meeting dates are scheduled as follows:

  • 14 December

The dates are subject to change.

The venues and hui start times are determined closer to the hui date and are publicly notified.

Hui 57, 17 August 2020

Due to restrictions under Covid-19 alert level 3 and what is reasonably practical, Hui 57 will be held via video conferencing and a recording of the meeting will be made available on the Tūpuna Maunga Authority YouTube channel
