Award criteria and information
The Upper Harbour Volunteer Recognition Programme recognises efforts that often go unnoticed, and helps individuals and/or communities in our local board area.
The programme honours those who give their time, including:
- individuals of all ages
- not-for-profit organisations or local community groups that also provide a way for individuals to volunteer.
We will invite all nominees who meet this criteria to a ceremony to receive a certificate recognising their efforts.

Community participation and contribution
Engaging the community or showing leadership and resilience in hard times.
Diversity and inclusion
Building an inclusive environment, celebrating cultural diversity or supporting new residents.
Investing in youth
Empowering future generations' leadership and development or supporting youth mental health and wellbeing.
Environmental heroes
Contributing to natural environment and climate action, environmental protection and enhancement, sustainable land practices and reducing the community's carbon footprint.
Champions of sports and recreation
Promoting physical activity and sport, supporting sports clubs and facilities and promoting active healthy communities.
