Unsolicited proposals

Our unsolicited proposals guide explains how we assess proposals and indicates which types of proposals are likely to be successful.

Before you prepare an unsolicited proposal

Review our unsolicited proposals guide to learn:

  • your obligations at each stage of the assessment process
  • the assessment criteria
  • what types of proposal are likely to go ahead.

Organisations the guide applies to

The process set out in the guide applies to Auckland Council and its council-controlled organisations (except Auckland Transport, Panuku Development Auckland and Watercare).

Reviewing your concept

We will meet you to review your concept to see if it justifies a formal proposal and assessment. This is called a pre-submission concept review meeting.

For this meeting your concept should:

  • identify key inputs and outcomes
  • have clear key assumptions and requirements
  • identify other key elements
  • demonstrate your unique ability to deliver the proposal.

How to arrange a meeting

To arrange a meeting, email:

Submitting an unsolicited proposal

If your concept is approved, you should prepare a formal proposal, using the template and checklist provided as appendices in the unsolicited proposals guide.
