About Hawkins Theatre

The Hawkins Theatre is a purpose-built theatre situated in Papakura.

The facility seats 268 people and is suitable for film screenings, dance, music and theatre performance.

As well as being the home of the Hawkins Youth Theatre Company, it also hosts community and civic events, comedy shows, touring events and regular film screenings - with a particular focus on New Zealand and arthouse films.

Hawkins Theatre is an Auckland Council arts facility, supported by the Papakura Local Board.

Opening hours

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

The theatre is also open in the evenings and on the weekends for movie screenings and performances.

Closed on public holidays.

Charges may apply to films and performances.

Accessibility

There is accessible parking nearby, and the facility is wheelchair accessible.

A number of accessible seats in the theatre are reserved, and some productions offer discounted or free companion tickets.

There is a hearing loop in the theatre.

Assistance animals are welcome.
