What the Budget and Performance Committee does
The Budget and Performance Committee is responsible for the development of the Long-term plan, annual plans and financial plans and policies.
The committee:
- monitors how well Auckland Council is performing
- manages financial decisions that fall outside of the long-term plan or annual plan
- approves all Statements of Expectation for CCOs (excluding Auckland Transport and the new transport CCO) and Port of Auckland Limited. Visit Council-controlled organisations' (CCO) Accountability Policy and Statement of Expectations to learn more.
- reviews any investment proposals before the funds are released
- approves unplanned spending when needed
- considers the effects of climate change when making decisions.
