What the Emergency Committee does
The committee makes sure important council business continues during emergencies or other unusual events.
The committee meets on a temporary basis only when there is:
- a state of emergency, or
- an unusual situation agreed by the mayor and chief executive where:
- it is unsafe or not practical to travel or attend
- there are not enough people present to hold the meeting.
