What the Regulatory and Safety Committee does 

This committee checks the progress of council’s regulatory functions and public safety projects.  

Its key focus areas are, (but are not limited to):

• the development and review of regulatory policy and bylaws
• regulatory hearings and decision-making
• appointing independent hearings commissioners and District Licensing Committee chairs
• monitoring community safety projects and related policies.
