Change Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) details online

Notify us of changes to the details you have already given us about the LBP who will be working on your building project. For example, if an LBP ceases to be involved, or the work they will be doing changes.

Email us to change your LBP details

Email email@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz all the following information with your notification:

1. Building project details

Include:

• Building consent number
• The area office dealing with the consent or construction
• The address of your project

2. Your contact details

Include:

• Full name
• Contact phone number
• Email address
• Your role on the project (owner, agent, or LBP)

3. The changes to your LBP

Tell us if you are:

• updating the details of the existing LBP working on the building project 
• replacing the LBP working on the building project.

If you are updating the details of the existing LBP

Include:

• when the change will happen
• the existing LBP's details, including:
  • full name
  • licence number
  • what has changed with regard to this LBP working on the building project
• any supporting documents.

If you are replacing the LBP

Include:

• when the change will happen
• the existing LBP's:
  • full name
  • licence number
• the new LBP's:
  • full name
  • contact phone number
  • email address
  • postal adress
  • suburb
  • city
  • postcode
  • licence number
  • the licence classes the LBP holds (Carpentry, Roofing, External plastering, Brick and block laying, Foundations)
• any additional comments
• any supporting documents.

What happens next

The regulatory support team will:

• process your notification
• contact you if there are any issues with the information you have provided.

It may take us up to two working days to record the Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) information on the building consent file.
