The LFHW Fund aims to help Auckland households reduce their food waste.
Food waste currently makes up around 45 per cent (by weight) of the average household rubbish bin or bag in Auckland. This will reduce when households compost or use the food scraps collection service.
We will allocate this grant to projects that focus on behaviour change and food waste reduction.
Broader projects around processing food waste or keeping it out of landfill should apply to the Waste Minimisation and Innovation Fund.

We are not running a funding round in the 2024/2025 financial year due to resourcing and procurement challenges.
