About the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board Facility Partnership Fund

Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board set up the Facility Partnership Fund to provide grants for sport and recreation clubs or organisations.

The grant can help with the costs to plan or develop facilities that are on council land and owned by your club or organisation.

The grant could help to pay for:

structural improvements or renovations to club-owned sports and recreation facilities
a needs assessment, feasibility study or business case for a club-owned facility.

We will assess your application and decide how much funding we can contribute.

Our grants programme supports projects that:

improve the quality, maintenance and accessibility of existing facilities, parks and open spaces
encourage collaboration and the best use of community assets and resources
transform local spaces into popular community gathering places that enhance people’s lives.

We welcome applications that:

show how the facility will increase participation in active sport and recreation
align with sport and recreation strategic investment plans, including any relevant facility priority plans or the Auckland Sport Sector Facility Priorities Plan
show your willingness to work in partnership to achieve positive community sport and recreation outcomes
detail your ability to complete your proposed project
show how the proposed facility can operate sustainably.

There is $150,000 available each year, with no set limit on the amount we can grant to any one organisation.

We will assess every application and decide how much we will grant on a case-by-case basis.
