This grant supports local community groups and organisations to:

• build capacity and capability
• upskill staff and volunteers
• become more sustainable and able to attract diverse funding opportunities.

The key goals of the fund are to:

• create a strong network of community groups and organisations across the Puketāpapa Local Board area
• support organisations to connect with each other and other funders
• increase sustainability
• unlock further resources.

Our grants programme supports outcomes from the Puketāpapa Local Board Plan 2023.

These outcomes are:

• to have inclusive communities that are healthy, connected and thriving
• that our people speak up and help shape our future
• that our environment is protected and enhanced for present and future generations
• that we have well-planned neighbourhoods and vibrant public spaces
• that our transport options are reliable, accessible and create less pollution
• to have a thriving local economy with opportunities to learn, work and volunteer.

We welcome applications that show how you would use the grant to:

• encourage community members to get involved and help create a sense of ownership and pride in Puketāpapa
• support migrant and refugee communities
• improve the health, safety and wellbeing of the Puketāpapa community
• increase the use of cycle networks and other active modes of transport, like walking
• identify initiatives that reduce carbon and other vehicle emissions
• help restore the health and ecological sustainability of the harbour and waterways
• encourage sustainability programmes and waste minimisation
• recognise and affirm Māori culture as the foundational culture in our area
• reduce socio-economic inequalities in our community
• support the provision of healthy, affordable housing
• create a thriving local economy that provides good job opportunities.

Funding ranges from $10,000 to $30,000 each year.

You can receive this funding each year for up to three years and up to a total of $60,000 inclusive.

The local board aims to support community groups and organisations that:

• demonstrate a clear track record of delivering services in the Puketāpapa Local Board area
• have previously been funded by the local board
• deliver on the local board's priority outcomes
• are based in and will benefit people in the Puketāpapa Local Board area.

Applications from regional groups must show how they would use the funds to:

• have a direct impact on the Puketāpapa community
• achieve the Puketāpapa Local Board outcomes.

Applicants must:

• be a community group, trust or organisation
• be a legally constituted entity such as an incorporated society, charitable trust, or purpose led organisation
• submit a copy of their annual financial statements with evidence of good financial management.
