About the Waiheke Environmental Grant
Waiheke Local Board supports community and landowner projects or activities that:
- preserve and protect our natural environment
- create safe, healthy and connected habitats in priority ecological areas.

Our grants programme supports the Waiheke Local Board Plan 2023 in these key areas:
- our people
- our environment
- our facilities and open spaces
- our places
- our economy.

We welcome applications that show how you would use the grant to achieve the five key areas listed under 'Outcomes'.

More about the Waiheke Environmental Grant
Successful applicants must submit an accountability report at the end of their project or activity. This is required to show us how the grant was used.
We will not give any future funding to applicants who do not complete this report.
Who can apply
We will accept applications:
- from all landowners and community and environmental groups operating within the Waiheke Local Board area
- for work on private land or public land.
If you are a community group working on council-owned land, email communityfunding@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz to let us know. We may supply you with materials or equipment instead of a monetary grant.
