Food business sites must provide adequate storage for cleaning materials and staff personal items that cannot be taken into work areas.
Storage of staff personal items
Facilities for storing clothing and staff personal belongings can be:
- a changing room
- lockers or cupboards in a changing room
- enclosed cupboards dedicated for the storage of clothing and personal belongings. These should be located outside of the food preparation, food processing, food storage and utensil washing areas.
Storage of chemicals
Store chemicals, cleaning equipment, pest control chemicals and equipment to be compliant with manufacturer’s instructions.
Chemicals must be stored so they do not adversely affect the safety or suitability of kai (food).
