If you are opening a new transfer station, email us at waste.licensing@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz to discuss your plans.
If you are taking over an existing transfer station, email us at waste.licensing@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz to transfer the licence into your name.
You need to apply within 14 days of taking over the business. After this period, the registration expires and can not be transferred.
Businesses and people who collect or transport more than 20 tonnes of waste from or to land in Auckland in each 12-month period will also need a waste collection licence.

We will contact you within 10 working days to book an inspection of your business site.
You must renew your registration every year. All registrations will expire on 31 July each year.
We will send you a renewal application form before your expiry date.

You need to apply for renewal within 14 days of the expiry date. If we have not received your application within 14 days, the registration will lapse and you will need to register again.
