Āwhitu House, built in the 1930s, sits just inside the entrance of the park and five minutes walk from the waterfront. The main bedroom features french doors which open onto a small deck at the front of the house.
Āwhitu Regional Park has a:
- working farm and historic homestead
- plentiful walks and mountain bike trails
- pōhutukawa fringed tranquil swimming bays
- long sandy beaches.
