Maraetai Coast Road works - 8 December 2025 to July 2026
Vector is installing underground power lines along Maraetai Coast Road. Work starts at the Umupuia end.
From December to March the road will be reduced to a single lane with Stop/Go signs in place. From March the road will be completely closed for around 3 months (weather permitting).
During the complete closure you will need to use alternate routes. To travel from Clevedon to Maraetai, Beachlands and Pine Harbour. - use Twilight or West roads, via Brookby and Whitford. When works permit, the road will open to pedestrians and cyclists on weekends.

Main park gates are open from 6am to 9pm during daylight savings hours and 6am to 7pm during non-daylight saving hours.
Located in the main car park, just past the information shelter. Please leave gates as you find them.

Bookings can only be made six months in advance. Availability refreshes at midnight daily.

Dogs, other animals and pets are prohibited at all times.
Your campsite must be clean and tidy during your stay, and when you leave.
No bins or rubbish disposal facilities. Take all rubbish and recycling with you when you leave.
You may stay in certified self-contained (CSC) vehicles at this site.
It must have a current NZS5465 Certified Self-Containment Certificate from Ministry for the Environment.
Fires prohibited at all times.
