What the Food Safety Information Bylaw 2020 does
This bylaw applies to most Auckland restaurants, cafés and takeaways, specifically, food businesses which:
- operate under a Template Food Control Plan under the Food Act 2014
- serve the public
- are registered and verified by the council.
Food grade information certificate
The bylaw requires businesses to display a food grade information certificate at any physical site and on any digital platform it controls.
The bylaw identifies preferred locations to display a certificate at food premises and on digital platforms.
Businesses can also choose to display an image of the food grade, or a statement of the food grade and a link to our online food grade search.
