How to request a different size bin

You must be the property owner, ratepayer or an authorised person to request a different size rubbish bin.

You will need to pay a one-off administration fee of $40 to exchange your bin. This fee is separate to the waste services charge. Visit Rubbish, recycling bin and food scraps bins options and charges for more information about waste charges.

If your bin is missing you can also use this form to swap your lost bin for a different size.

We will still charge the administration fee if the exchange does not happen. For example, if the bin is:

If you are requesting a bin for a tenant or owner you must provide a copy of the Property Management Authority (PMA).

You should:

submit the bin request
email wasteservices@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz the service request number, property address and PMA.

Complete the online form and we will email a service request number to you.
We will let you know by email or text when to put your empty bin out for exchange.
We will exchange your bin within 15 working days.
We will send an invoice for the $40 admin fee and any related waste service charges.
